Knitting on the Wild Side!

Stop the Presses: I have News!

join me on my favourite island! The camp brochure for my September 2020 Knitting on the Wild Side Camp on Big Tancook Island, NS is now available!

Have you ever wished to be cast adrift on an island with only your knitting and a few good friends?
Join me on Big Tancook Island, Nova Scotia for a week of knitting, classes, companionship and incredible tranquility.
Expect a warm Tancook welcome and enjoy the rugged beauty of this remote island full of peace and quiet that scarcely can be imagined in our modern world. You'll travel back in time and leave the everyday world behind the moment you step ashore.

Registration for camp will begin at 1:00pm Atlantic time on January 23rd (NOTE: this is somewhat earlier than usual in order to accommodate my challenging spring travel schedule).
In the event that the September 12-18 camp completely fills up (as seems very likely again), we will subsequently open dates for the second week (September 19-25). Please email for all of the the details.

The Hurricane Hats

a fun, top-down, multi-size delight! the original Hurricane Hat (and its twin!) was knit during the aftermath of Hurrican Dorian My top-down, any-yarn, any-size Hurricane Hats pattern is now officially released, complete with its six supporting video-technique links. This hat is a wonderful way to use up partial balls of yarn: I've been going through my stash and keep on making more of them!

Join me for some Mitten-Making Fun!

join me on a mitten adventure! Please join me for a mitten adventure in the New Year!
Usually I wait until a project is well underway before filming techniques and sharing them with you but, this time, I'm inviting you to join me on an as yet undeveloped project.
I know I want to write a straightforward double-knit mitten pattern using my lovely new Blue Faced Leicester sport weight yarns. After that, nothing is certain.
Mittens are an excellent application for double knitting. As I record this journey I'll try to explain my reasons for choosing various techniques.
There may be mistakes, recalculations and re dos! Please subscribe to my YouTube channel to be notified of developments as they unfold!

A very Happy New knitting Year to you all!
